Hi , my name is Abranda Morris and I'm 17 years old. I go to Baldwin County High School where I'm apart of the swim team, key club, student government (president), and French club. I also go to church at Crossroads Church of God where I volunteer on Sundays in the children's room , have been apart of the Student Leader Team , and play the guitar for worship on Wednesdays. Through all of these opportunities they've taught me so many lessons and things about myself. The swim team taught me how to continue in the race even if you feel like your drowning. Key Club taught me how to be a helping hand in my community and that I can make a difference. Student Government taught me how to be a leader and voice for the unheard. Being apart of the Student Leader Team has taught me that God is at the center of it all and your plan might not be his plan but that's the amazing thing about God, you never know what's next so cherish these moments we have. With all that I've learned I've grown into a helping friend, a strong leader, and a steadfast believer in Christ.

As one of few people that were not afforded the chance to personally know Blayne Shackelford, I knew him well. That says a lot about a person. When you are spoken of heavily, but it remains positive, that means you are different. I did not know Blayne, but I knew he stood out. I can not compare myself to Blayne, but I can identify the aspects of my life that I work towards every day that remind me of his difference. Rather than thinking of random acts of kindness I have given, I will just tell of one thing that Blayne and I had In common, a love of expressing our faith. Every day I make an effort to show others that life is not hopeless. Many saw this through Blayne, and I hope some can one day see it through me. Without knowing Blayne personally, I knew Blayne was funny, I knew Blayne was kind, but most importantly, I knew Blayne was saved and has shown others the importance of being saved. This is how I try to live my life on a daily basis, proclaiming love through kindness, showing loyalty through being there even when you are not, and exhibiting leadership by being confident in what I believe. Just like Blayne did.

I am 18 and a senior at BCHS. When free, I enjoy to fish and run. Many of my best memories come from hours spent on the water with my buddys while we try our best to catch anything that comes by. I have always considered trust in and from my friends to be a crucial part of my life. With firm trust established, we can achieve anything. Next on my priorities is academics. I am a dedicated student and this is reflected by my class rank. Ranking 1st in the senior class came from the diligent work I have continuously put into my school career. Combining trust with others and my own developed abilities allows for me to begin leading others. Many people have poured into me over the years and have made me into what I consider a good leader. I try to lead by example and to make sure that no one is asked to do something I would not do myself. Blayne exemplified each of these values in a way that made him loved by all. Every time I talked to him or even was simply around him, I could feel the joy he inspired as it radiated from him. He is truly a blessing to all and if I could even become a fraction of the legacy he left, I will be more than content.
